Key Responsibilities

- Lead membership recruitment, engagement, and retention through proactive statewide outreach to Peer Support Professionals, employers, peer-run organizations, training entities, and other workforce partners.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for members, prospective members, partners, and others interested in the Association.
- Manage the Association’s membership database and maintain accurate records for engagement, communication, and reporting.
- Coordinate professional development, continuing education, workshops, trainings, conferences, networking opportunities, and other workforce development activities, with opportunities for additional facilitation as the role evolves.
- Support affinity groups, online forums, and other opportunities for connection while continually identifying ways to strengthen the member experience and value of Association membership.
Strategic Planning & Workforce Development
- Partner with CMWN leadership to develop and advance strategic priorities for the Association and Colorado’s peer support workforce, including creation and implementation of a Statewide Peer Support Workforce Capacity-Building Plan.
- Collaborate with CMWN staff, the Peer Support Trainer Coalition, and other training stakeholders to support the development and advancement of baseline peer support training standards in Colorado.
- Track progress toward strategic goals, evaluate program success, and complete required data tracking and quarterly membership, engagement, attendance, and program reporting.
- Research national best practices, emerging workforce trends, and approaches from peer support workforces and professional associations in other states.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen peer support role fidelity, professional development, workforce connection, and the long-term sustainability of Colorado’s peer support workforce.
Board of Directors & Peer Support Advisory Council
- Serve as CMWN’s staff liaison to the Association’s Board of Directors and establish, facilitate, and support the ongoing work of the Peer Support Advisory Council.
- Ensure the experiences, priorities, and input of the Advisory Council and broader peer support workforce are meaningfully incorporated into Association programming, strategic planning, and statewide workforce initiatives.
- Prepare meeting materials, support committees and projects, and provide timely updates to the Board on membership, engagement, activities, and Association priorities.
Communications, Partnerships & Sustainability
- Partner with CMWN’s Marketing Department to promote Association programs, membership, professional development, and workforce engagement; develop member communications, website content, outreach materials, newsletters, and other resources; and maintain an annual communications plan.
- Help ensure Association communications reflect peer support values, role fidelity, and the voices and priorities of Colorado’s peer support workforce.
- Build and maintain relationships with Peer Support Professionals, employers, peer-run organizations, training entities, community leaders, funders, and other partners and stakeholders across Colorado.
- Represent the Association at events, conferences, meetings, and stakeholder gatherings and identify opportunities for collaboration that strengthen the Association and Colorado’s broader peer support workforce.
- Support sponsorships, partnerships, revenue-generating opportunities, and other strategies that contribute to the Association’s long-term growth and sustainability.
Required Qualifications
- MUST have personal lived experience with mental health, substance use, trauma, and/or co-occurring condition recovery.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the peer support role, peer support values and practices, and Colorado’s behavioral health and peer support landscape, with a strong commitment to protecting the integrity and role fidelity of peer support.

- Strong communication, organization, time-management, relationship-building, and customer service skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

- Willingness and ability to travel periodically throughout Colorado and flexibility to work an occasional evening when needed for Association activities.
